About the event
CCDS is unique in that it offers lectures as well as specialized workshops that give participants the chance to brainstorm and exchange information with other participants. Experienced practitioners in any jurisdiction and those just entering the field can benefit from the lectures and workshops featuring experienced lawyers from both California and across the nation.
CCDS provides specialized training fully compliant with California Rules of Court 4.117 and 8.605, meeting all mandated qualifications for attorneys representing defendants in capital cases. Sessions include comprehensive instruction on capital case trial and appellate procedures, evidentiary standards, ethical considerations, mitigation strategies, and post-conviction advocacy.
CCDS also provides comprehensive training fully compliant with California Rules of Court 5.664, ensuring attorneys meet juvenile delinquency representation requirements, including essential areas such as trial skills, adolescent development, mental health competency, ethical duties, and advocacy throughout all phases of juvenile proceedings.
